We live in an increasingly connected world – TVs, gas meters and cordless drills, you name it. The consequences of having a device hacked can be devastating, and worryingly, most consumers don’t know just how vulnerable their devices actually are. Many connected products have been designed with little thought to security. For those devices that do employ hardware security, applications are often placed into a single zone, where it is possible they could compromise each other. What is needed are embedded solutions that are built from the ground up with a separation based architecture rooted in hardware, where each application and operating system works independently in its own trusted and isolated environment.

Prior to joining Imagination in 2014, Tim was with ARM Ltd., where he held engineering, technical marketing and product marketing roles since 2001. He previously worked in engineering and consulting with a variety of companies. He holds a BSc in Physics with Electronics from the University of Manchester – Institute of Science and Technology, and an MBA from The Open University.
