Often introduction of predictive maintenance requires installation of wireless sensors into existing aging plants. Providing power for wireless sensors in a convenient and cost effective way can become a real challenge. This presentation will discuss the possibilities to use motion energy harvesters as an alternative to batteries, maintenance cost and total cost of ownership related to them, harvested power at different vibration levels and field tests in real life conditions.
