Deterministic Communication for the Industrial IoT – Presented by Christoph Gugg, B&R Industrial Automation

Deterministic Communication for the Industrial IoT – Presented by Dr. Christoph Gugg, B&R Industrial Automation, Member of IIC at the Intelligent Sensor Networks Conference, special edition, 23 May 2017, Messe Düsseldorf Congress Center, Düsseldorf , Germany.

The Industrial IoT describes the convergence of operations technologies (OT) with information technologies (IT). Historically, both domains have unique requirements – this presentation answers the question how real-time communication can be achieved within a smart factory network. The usage of the potent OPC UA’s data description model with the IEEE Ethernet extension TSN enables new business opportunities when combined with the high-performance industrial protocol POWERLINK.
