Designlink, Gerbrand Bas, will speak at IoT Event

They will organize the session ‘Design for the Internet of Things’

Gerbrand Bas is generalist in the area of industrial product design with over thirty years of experience. One of his missions is to research and highlight the meaning of design. He is active within a number of organizations, including Designlink the Dutch Design Management Network (DMN) and the Confederation Dutch Creative Industries, the umbrella organization of the creative business service providers in the Netherlands.

As of 2013 Designlink has become a platform for high-quality initiatives aimed at professionalizing the ‘design chain’. This not only involves commissions and entrepreneurship, but also includes knowledge and policy development. Designlink works with (regional) partners and positions itself as a Dutch only design-chain organization.

Designlink is both directly and indirectly involved in a large number of initiatives in the field of design and the creative industries in the Netherlands. Designlink originated in 2001 as the result of a merger between the Foundation for Good Industrial Design and the ioN Foundation, it is avirtual organization and has a modest back-office.

Gerbrand is also a member of the supervisory board of CRISP, a big project that investigates product service systems for the creative industries.Together with the Confederation he currently develops the concept of creative innovation and knowledge co-operatives (KIC). KIC will facilitate the cooperation between knowledge and educational institutes, public organisations en creative businesses in a business case.
