Kevin Doolin, COO, Director EU Programmes TSSG and Founder of fuseami, presents at the IoT Event: “The Journey to Relevance – from EU funding to successful spinout”.
This presentation describes the journey from securing and delivering multiple EU projects (www.ist-daidalos.org, www.ict-persist.eu, www.ict-societies.eu) in the pervasive computing/IoT space to establishing a new networking company which leverages cutting edge pervasive computing technology concepts.
“Without the support of EU funding, my new company “fuseami” would never have been envisioned or created“
About Kevin Doolin
Kevin is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Director of European Union at Telecommunications Software and Systems Group (TSSG www.tssg.org). He is also the founder of a new startup company: fuseami. Kevin’s area of expertise is Pervasive Computing, which is the forerunner to ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT). Kevin has coordinated a number of key EU projects in this space, for example PERSIST (www.ict-persist.eu). His most recent project was the €15M EU flagship project “SOCIETIES” (www.ict-societies.eu), “SOCIETIES focuses on bridging the gap between pervasive and social computing, and enables the establishment of dynamically formed networks of people and things which can in turn be offered personalised mobile services”.
fuseami provides event attendees with the ability to discover other relevant attendees, based on their Linkedin profile data and based on the fact that they are at the event in question. The app automatically suggests the most relevant connections to each user based on multiple data points from their LinkedIn profile. In addition attendees can specify key words or phrases to be used to discover other people (such as Cloud, CTO, IoT etc), and they can also specify the degree of relevance for the people they want to discover. Once two individuals decide that they want to connect, they can then set up a chat session within the fuseami App.
