Deutsche Telekom has unveiled five new partners for its Qivicon smart home platform, including the first outside of Germany.
Qivicon, which launched in Germany two years ago, is an open platform onto which third parties can build connected home services.
Kärcher, ENTEGA, ASSA ABLOY, Logitech and the eww Group have joined up, taking the total number of partners to 41.
Austrian energy company eww Group is perhaps the most significant, as it moves Qivicon beyond its German borders.
DT revealed eww started selling starter packs for security and energy in Austria in June this year.
In March, Qivicon’s Head of Business Development told European Communications that the platform would launch in the Netherlands in Q2 and the UK later this year, but neither have materialised so far.Read more
